That Chad Ochocinco, released yesterday by the New England Patriots [team stats], updated his Twitter profile after getting the news. It now reads: “UNEMPLOYED BLACK GUY.” Ya gotta admire the man’s sense of humor ...
• That Best Buddies big Anthony Shriver, who we noticed looked shell-shocked when his Heat lost Game 5 to the Celtics [team stats] at Miami’s American Airlines [AMR] Arena, got into a semi-Heated argument about the Eastern Conference Finals earlier in the week with Audi of Norwell owner Ray Ciccolo. The South Shore auto dealership was the first stop in the Buddies’ 100-mile rain-soaked bike race from Cambridge to Hyannisport, but instead of using the time to re-fuel, Anthony got into it, ya know, as boys do, with Ray, a C’s fan, about the playoffs. We hear the, um, discussion went on so long, Shriver’s 3-year-old son joined in with a steady refrain of “Rondo bad ... Rondo bad ... Rondo bad ...”
• That all the Demmies are coming out for the boffo Boston Pride Paradetomorrow. Surprised? We’re not. Leading off the funfest will be Mayor Tom Menino. Also in the Pride posse: Lt. Gov. Tim Murray, Boston City CouncilorsMike Ross, Frank Baker, Tito Jackson, Matt O’Malley and Felix Arroyo, state Rep. Liz Malia, U.S. Rep. Nicki Tsongas, state Sen. William Brownsberger, Gov.Deval Patrick with the Obama for America peeps (natch), congressional candidate Joe Kennedy III and senatorial wannabe Elizabeth Warren. We’re told there may be a surprise guest towards the end of the route, but, as always, our lips are sealed. And, no, it’s not that freshie, Hedda Lettuce...
• And that speaking of Pride, Jennifer Holliday, fresh from her performance on the “American Idol” finale, will belt out three tunes at Cirque in Lynn tomorrow night at that city’s Prideapalooza
